Jennifer Beatty, DO, FACS

Jennifer F. Beatty, DO, FACS, is a breast cancer surgeon and founder of The Breast Place in North Charleston, South Carolina. Dr. Beatty is a breast cancer advocate for all, providing compassionate care before, during, and after treatment. 

After earning her Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine at Kansas City University of Medicine and Bioscience in Kansas City, Missouri, Dr. Beatty completed her residency training at Ohio University in Athens, Ohio, and the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. 

Dr. Beatty’s interest in breast cancer diagnosis and treatment started when she served as Lieutenant Commander in the United States Navy as a general surgeon and Director of the Breast Clinic at the Charleston Naval Hospital in North Charleston, South Carolina.

After serving as a Marine Corps Forward with a Surgical Shock Trauma Unit in Iraq, Dr. Beatty returned to the US and made Charleston her home. She’s board certified by the American Osteopathic Board of Surgery and a fellow of the American College of Surgeons.

Dr. Beatty is also certified in oncoplastic surgery, Hidden Scar™, and laser treatments. She’s also an active member of the American Society of Breast Surgeons (ASBS) and the American Society of Breast Disease (ASBD). Further edcuation on nutrition sparked an interest in Dr. Beatty after conducting research on how vital proper nutrition to the body. Dr. Beatty became licensed in oncology nutrition to continue to help educate her patients.

Fulfilling her vision of having a surgical practice devoted to breast cancer, Dr. Beatty realized there was a need for providing survivorship care. She now offers aesthetic and wellness services at The Breast Place, providing scar revision, facial rejuvenation, and body contouring. 

Because of her deep passion for breast health education, Dr. Beatty volunteers at the Barrier Island Free Medical Clinic in Johns Island, South Carolina, performing advanced breast evaluations and surgeries. She also serves on the American Cancer Society Board of Executive Leadership Council. 

Dr. Beatty also actively participates in research to provide cutting-edge treatments for her patients.
